JOIN RECOVER SEATTLE!
The goals:
To MOVE SEATTLE AWAY FROM A SYSTEM THAT IS KILLING THE ADDICTED AND RUINING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND BUSINESSES.
To provide people with substance use disorder the time, the structure, and the support they need to reclaim their lives and TO GAIN long-term recovery free from drugs.
To end the crime and the destruction of businesses that is harMING Seattle’s MOST LIVABLE neighborhoods.
The expectation of safe streets and public spaces is held by 80% of your neighbors but politicians and The MEDIA have lied to all of us about what is required to create a safe city.
IN 2025, Yet again we have a group of politicians AND NON_PROFIT OPERATORS who will not be honest with themselves or the citizens. What they believe, that addicts need housing first before they can change, and that this housing needs to be in our city center neighborhoods to be “close to services” has turned out to be an epic failure.
Recover Seattle and 80% of Seattle’s citizens understand what must be done to stop the business closures. We must arrest first, and provide the non-violent addicted with an ultimatum: Volunteer for Seattle’s four year drug free treatment path or go to jail for 365 days.
To achieve this as our new standard for a civilized Seattle we cannot wait any longer. The actions outlined in the Recover Seattle initiatives are THE necessary steps TO FREEING OUR CITY FROM THE DESTRUCTIVE CYCLE.
Recover Seattle Initiatives
Recover Seattle is working to legally certify four citizens initiatives by January 1st, 2026. The goal is to offer the addicted and non-violent 365 days of residential recovery and an ongoing 4 year path to rejoining society. There is a proven way to get there using our legal system as leverage and providing the time, structure and support needed to begin long term recovery.
2. A law for those who continue to commit the crimes associated with addiction. Mandating arrest and a choice between 364 days in jail or 364 days in a residential addiction treatment center away from our city neighborhoods and businesses.
1. A law to end camping or living in all of our public spaces, including long term RV street parking. Direct to move or to shelter or detox with arrest for those who refuse.
3. A law that instructs the Mayor and the City Council to use only existing city, state and federal funds to immediately build a secure, temporary facility that combines a jail, a detox, a small medical unit and a large residential addiction treatment center away from our city neighborhoods and commercial zones.
4. A law that instructs the Mayor and the City Council to use only existing city, state and federal funds to immediately build drug free apartments for the sober graduates of residential treatment and to fund training in an apprenticeship, a vocational training or college for 36 months.
