About Recover Seattle

Recover Seattle is a non-partisan ballot initiative committee formed in August of 2025 to create and qualify ballot initiatives in the city of Seattle. Our goal is to end the city’s tolerance of public drug use and people living in our streets, our parks, and our transit systems and return addicted Seattle citizens to productive, happy lives. In the process we can save Seattle businesses and create the conditions for long lasting prosperity. We can create a sense of safety not experienced in Seattle since in decades.

We can achieve our goals by:

• Prohibiting camping in all of Seattle’s public spaces (not just parks) and including long term RV street parking .

• Re-authorizing Seattle Police to arrest for the crimes associated with addiction and then offer a long term treatment or jail option for the non-violent.

• Using existing funds, now being wasted on people who are not ready for housing, to build a secure and effective, drug free long term residential addiction treatment center away from our city neighborhoods.

We can turn these goals into laws through the initiative process. The ideas in our initiatives poll across party lines at 78% approval. Safe, clean and welcoming streets will bring new businesses and residents to our city center neighborhoods. The return of residents and business investment will end our ongoing budget deficits. Showing that we care enough about our fellow citizens to intervene when they are too addicted to be able to make reasonable decisions, and by providing a real and lasting path out of addiction, we can restore the hope of every Seattle citizen. It is vital that we believe in each other and in our city government again.
